A simple and trust-worthy glucometer that does it’s job perfectly. The Accu-Chek Active has been dominating the world market for several years now and despite it’s old design and bulky feel, it has been the favourite glucometer for doctors as well as diabetic patients.
It’s fairly accurate and has been used in clinics and hospitals as the sole GRBS testing meter. The error values is minimal and when cross checked with laboratory test results, the Accu-Chek Active stands on the top with only the least notable variations. The “code” in each test strip vial has to be changed for the glucometer to give the right readings and that is the only disadvantage because all the newer glucometers does the “coding” part automatically. It has no USB support and can store only 500 test results (which can be labelled pre or post meal).
It’ll be a good gift for your parents or someone older. The test strips as usual are expensive and the extra money can be justified by it’s accuracy and ease of use. You’ll get a vial of 10 strips when you place the order for this glucometer! And it also comes with the SoftClix lancing device, which is used to draw the blood sample without fear or pain!
